Prof Abraham K. Waithima holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He is the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs and an Associate Professor of Economics at St Paul’s University. Prof Waithima is a former Vice Chancellor at the University of Kigali, Rwanda. He has consulted for several organizations including ChildFund International, ChildFund Korea, GIZ, IUCEA, APHRC, Kenya’s Ministry of Education, Stafford International University in Juba, Australian Council for Education Research (ACER), TJRC/UNDP, FHI360, MESPT, Practical Action and Farm Concern International, among others. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Centre for Anglican Women’s Leadership and Research in Africa. He is a member of the University of Kigali Governing Board. He is a Board member of CITAM Christian Education and Discipleship. Previously, he served as an Organization Board member of VisionFund Kenya and a member of the Deacon Board for CITAM. Prof Waithima has published several papers in journals, books, and book chapters. Prof Waithima together with colleagues have recently published a high school graduate manual titled The True North: Bridging my Destiny. Prof Waithima has been a keynote speaker in national and international conferences and workshops where he speaks on diverse areas including Corporate Governance, Leadership, Change Management. He chairs the Finance, Credit, ICT and Strategy Committee committee of LOLC Microfinance Bank board.
